Logitech purchased the QuickCam brand when the company acquired the hardware division of Connectix in 1998. Logitech has carefully fine-tuned the eyeball design over time. At that time CU-SeeMe is the most popular video conferencing software.

2012, Logitech launched two model of Logitech ConferenceCam BCC950, CC3000E
2016, Lifesize was spun out of Logitech and is privately owned.

In 2005, the QuickCam webcam was named by PC World magazine as one of The 50 Greatest Gadgets of the Past 50 Years.
